Applying nail polish without smudging with Essie Good to go Top Coat

I'm not really fond to nail art and I don't really have the patience to wait for my nails to dry properly. It was often the case that after applying the top coat I would hit somewhere and I had to redo everything again because the nail polish came off.

Quick drying Top Coats

I'm not sure how long these quick drying top coats have been around, but surely for about 2 years-ish. I could be wrong!! :D
Anyways they surely get all my attention. Everytime I go buy a top coat it has to be declared as quick drying or else I won't buy it.

Essie Good To Go Top Coat

The other day I picked up from Essie the Good To Go Top Coat. It's a rapid dry top coat.
I did a test on how long it actually takes for the top coat to dry.

1. I started by applying 1 coat of the nail polish. I waited for about 10 seconds before applying the top coat over it.

Before applying the Top Coat

2. Right after applying the top coat I waited for 30 seconds before checking. The top coat was still a little bit sticky. I checked again after other 30 seconds and it was completely dry. After only 1 minute this top coat is completely dry!! Amazing, right?!?

With top coat on

I used this top coat already before I wrote this post and I can assure you that it stays on for about 1 week. It doesn't chip at all. This product is amazing. The only down-side is that it's quite expensive. it was around 12 EUR but definitely worth the hype.

10 Makeup Tips for Glasses

Glasses have been a huge trend since a couple of years back. It doesn't matter what shape, size or colour, they have totally conquered the world. The nerdy style has become a symbol of sexiness. Looking smart is attractive!! So get those glasses out!!

I'm more comfortable when wearing my contacts, but sometimes I just feel lazy or don't feel like wearing contacts and just use my glasses. It's not that I despise glasses, but I feel that I look weird when wearing glasses. I feel much better wearing makeup when I have glasses on.
It can be quite tricky in wearing makeup with your glasses, so I decided to create this post with some tips on how to apply makeup properly.
If you read till the end, you get to see a video on how I did my makeup when wearing glasses.

1. Start with flawless skin

If it comes to makeup, everything starts with a flawless complexion. That also goes for when wearing glasses, so use a fondation or BB Cream with a full coverage and conceal any acne or red spots. I'm more of a BB Cream girl and my favorites are from Missha.

2. Brighten up the under eye area

Glasses tend to darken the eye area, so make sure to cover up those dark circles properly. Use an illuminator after concealing for extra brightness.

3. Stay neutral, less is more

Glasses are great for lazy days!! You can totally skip eyeshadow and just apply some coats of mascara and eyeliner and you are good to go.

4. Don't be afraid of Mascara

Mascara sticking on your glasses?!? UGH, way to go to destroy the look. To avoid this from happening use a smudge- or waterproof mascara. Don't apply any mascara on your lower lashes, since it creates the appearence of dark circles.

Ps. Curl those lashes before applying any mascara, so that they won't hit on your glasses.

5. Do your brows

Brows are such an important part of your face. They can chance your whole appearence. Good shaped brows draw attentions to your eyes and that's what we want when rocking glasses. The best way to bring your brows in shape is by using a brow pencil and for a natural touch finish up with some brow mascara.

6. It's all about those cat eyes

When glasses then cat eyes!! The eyeliner gives your eyes definition. The frames of your glasses decide the size of your cat eye. That means: Thick frames = dramatic cat eyes, thin frames = small cat eyes. Use a gel liner for precise and smudge-free cat eyes.

7. If eyeshadows than bright shimmery shades

If you decide to wear a bit more makeup than go for light shades and stay away from the dark shadows. Use on your lower lashline highlighting shades to make your eyes pop.

8. Caution: The glasses can change the shape of your eyes

Depending on the types of lenses of your glasses, your eyes might change it's shape. Some glasses make your eyes appear bigger, in that case use eyeliner to outline your eyes this makes your eyes instantly appear smaller. If the opposite happens and your eyes become smaller use bright shades and highlighter.

9. Go bold with the lips

Since your eyes are very neutral and partially hidden by your glasses, you can go pretty bold with the lips. If it's hot pink or red it doesn't matter. The bolder the better. Since there is already a lot of shimmer in your eyes use a matte colour for a classy look.
It also depends on the shade of your frames. The thicker the frame the darker you can go with the lip color.

10. Don't skip Bronzer, Blush and Highlighter.

Just because you wear glasses doesn't mean you can skip these steps. You still want your face to have a nice shape and colour, right? So apply some pink on the apples of your cheek and add some summer glow all over your face.

Makeup for Glasses Tutorial

You don't have to follow all the steps, but if you follow some of them you surely will rock the nerdy style!!

Beauty Haul - Maybelline, C. Dior and more

I was getting out of concealer so I went to look for a new one and while being already there I picked up a few other things that seemed really interesting.

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara Medium Brown

I've completely fallen in love with brow mascara. They just make my brows look really natural. I saw a commercial on this mascara and thought that the shape of the brush looked really interesting.
They had about 5 different shades and since I'm thinking about changing my hair color I was not sure which one to pick up. In the end I decided to go for this medium brown that is slightly lighter than my natural hair color.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Oh yeah!! This was the concealer that I've been looking for since quite some time. I was so satisfied with the Fit Me Fondation Stick that I wanted to try out the concealer as well. Unfortunately I couldn't find it in Japan and had to wait till I got back. Finally I purchased it and am really excited to try it out.

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin No.02 light

One concealer is not enough, I had to get another one as well. The name of this concealer just sounded so good that I had to try it out. The shade appeared to me a bit dark, but when I applied it on my face it blended in perfectly. They only had 2 shades and the other one was too dark.

Maybelline  Color Elixir No.505

I just have a huge weakness for red lippies and these cream lippies from Maybelline got my attention right away. I love this types of lippies, because it's easy to apply, they last for quite some time and are pigmented. Just perfect for lazy days.

Essie Good to go Top Coat

I don't have the patience to wait for my nails to dry, so usually I hit somewhere and the nails are ruined. -.- ahh so frustrating...
All top coats that tell me they are fast drying are my friends!! Essie is one of my favorites nail polish company, so there was no way I would ignore this product.

Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil 520 Light it up

Nothing goes without lip pencil when you have thin lips. At first I thought it might be a bit difficult to apply it since it's such a big pen, but it actually works pretty good. It's really pigmented and covers up right away. You might have to sharpen it every time you use it though.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Dry Skin

I've been using since forever the shaver from Gillette Venus. Since this one was on sale I thought about checking it out. Lately the word "dry skin" gets my attention all the time. hihi.
I was a bit skeptical about the coconut scent though. I anyways purchased it and matching to the shaver I also purchase a shaving blade packaging.

Gillette Venus & Olaz Shaving Blades

Sugarberry scent... I wonder how that smells. Just because I got a new shaver I didn't feel like giving up on my old one. Don't get me wrong, I am super satisfied with my Gillette Venus and I love the blades that already come with the soap on it. Ahhh it's so much easier to shave like that. I never used these blades before and they were on sale so I thought that it was a good opportunity.

Christian Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Velvet Cream for dry or sensitive skin

I finished all the moisturizers that I had and decided to invest in a high-end moisturizer just because I've never used something else beside a drugstore moisturizer. I just was looking for something for dry skin and this one happened to be right in front of my nose. Hopefully the quality is worth the money. Stay tuned for a Review on it in the future.

Christian Dior Mousse Tendre Nettoyante Gentle foaming cleanser for dry or sensitive skin

Same thing here. I was out of cleanser and had to get a new one that was appropriate for my dry skin. When I picked up the product I thought it was already foamed inside the packaging. But now that I took it out of the box I realised that it only foams when in contact with water. Curious on how this will work for me.
I like the cleanser that come already foamed out of the container. I've only seen them in Japan... Is that a asian thing? What's your favorite cleanser type?

Catrice Allround Concealer Palette

When I went to look for a concealer in my local drugstore, they had nothing that offered a good coverage. There was this concealer palette from this company I've never heard of, have you? Catrice? Maybe a swiss thing? Well anyways, I've never used any concealer palettes in my entire life and since it was so cheap I decided to pick it up. Honestly, it's pretty good. I've been using it for quite a while now. Good coverage and blends in with my skin color.

This leads me to the end of this Haul. Do you have any new goodies that you want to share with me? Let me know =)
